'Biology, Infancy and Mothering' Conference
A conference on 'Biology, Infancy and Mothering' will be held at Durham University on Jan 7th 2010.  The conference will feature international speakers discussing the latest research into the biology of mother-infant behaviour and implications for delivery, postnatal care, breastfeeding support etc. Confirmed speakers include from South Africa, Dr Nils Bergman (skin-to-skin care and neuroscience); from Sweden, Professor Kerstin Uvnas-Moberg (oxytocin and bonding); from New Mexico USA, Professor Wenda Trevathan (instinctive mothering) and from UK Dr Susanne Colson (biological nurturing) and Professor Helen Ball (sleep proximity and lactation biology). Conference attendees may book on a day delegate rate (including lunch and refreshments on Jan 7th 2010), or a residential rate (including accommodation in Collingwood College, Durham and Conference Dinner on January 6th).  See http://www.dur.ac.uk/sleep.lab for booking details.
